Afloia Q10

This is the combo unit I use in my home and it's the perfect portable model for anyone who wants great dehumidification and air purification at the push of a button, without any complicated set up.   

At 2.7kg (6 pounds) it's easy to move the Afloia model between rooms to tackle humidity as needed.

The Q10 has touch screen controls with a 3-stage timer and 3 fan speeds; handy additions given it is priced very reasonably.

It's one of the quietest purifier and dehumidifier models on the market and works well in bedrooms without disturbing your sleep.

Plus, it has very little energy consumption so you can run it without a spike in your energy bills. 

There's a good water tank capacity of 0.2 gallons, and you have the option to connect it up to a drainage line so you don't need to empty it.

The HEPA filters in the Afloia Q10 need to be replaced every 3-6 months, but other than that there's very little maintenance involved. 

The only downside of the Afloia Q10 is it doesn't have carbon filters like the Simsen CT15, but the air filter system will still remove 99.9% of contaminants so it's not a huge issue.

It also works in humidity levels of up to 80%, so it can handle most basements or garages.

Tenergy Sorbi

Having clean air is a priority, but it's important that your clean air environment doesn’t cost you a fortune.

With this model, you get a simple dehumidifier with a true HEPA filter to purify the air as it draws out moisture.

I believe that the Tenergy Sorbi model is the best dehumidifier with air purifier you can buy for under $100.

The Tenergy Sorbi comes with an advanced true HEPA filter that removes 99% of air contaminants such as mold spores, allergens, and odors.

It comes with a 0.25-gallon water tank that will alert you when it is full, but it does not have an option for using a gravity drain like the Afloia model does. 

Still, the auto shutoff function will turn off the machine when the water level gets too high. This unit can remove up to 1.6 pints of water per day. It is compact and will fit on any countertop or desktop.

I find this model ideal for people who want an affordable model for small spaces.

My favorite feature of this Tenergy Sorbi combo unit is the true HEPA filter, meaning it can capture particles as small as 0.3 microns. It can remove almost all of the contaminants in the air, but it is still affordable.

Larger appliances with HEPA filters can be very expensive.

The Tenergy Sorbi is made for rooms under 200 square feet, so this machine is better suited to smaller rooms such as bedrooms or offices.

THECOSKY Dehumidifier and Air Purifier

For those on a budget, the THECOSKY dehumidifier gives you all the benefits without the massive price tag.

It's got a low up front cost of around the $100 mark, and it's not expensive to run as it has low energy consumption. 

The THECOSKY dehumidifier and air purifier is also one of the smallest portable models on the market. It has a footprint of 9.8 by 9.8 inches, and stands only 12.6 inches tall.

It's only suitable for use in one room at a time, but it can easily be picked up and moved. The basic design is more of a rectangular shape than the other products on our list and this enables it to cover a larger room size. 

Despite its small size, the water tank is still larger than the Tenergy Sorbi model, and big enough at 0.35 gallons that you can leave it running for 1-2 days at a time.

You do have the option to connect a drain line, but I didn't because I appreciated being able to move it between rooms as needed.

There aren't as many options with this dehumidifier and only one timer setting (24 hours), but it's manageable to program and use.

It's also really quiet (under 35 decibels!) so you can use it in a bedroom, office, or living room without causing any disruption. 

This THECOSKY dehumidifier and air purifier is the cheaper way to manage your humidity levels and remove 99.97% of contaminants, leaving you with cleaner air in your home and more money in your pocket.

Simsen CT15

The Simsen CT15 is a nice option with a large 0.75 gallon tank, which is more than double all of the other options on my list, making it an ideal choice for the person who wants to empty it every 3-4 days. 

It can remove about 2.1 pints of moisture per day, which is more than the Afloia Q10 or Tenergy Sorbi. 

However, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that the listed coverage area of 800 square feet is not realistic. Instead, I have found that this Simsen model works best in small to medium spaces of 180 square feet to around 400 square feet. 

You can try it in larger spaces, but if your relative humidity is high, you will struggle to see a difference even after running it all day. 

Unlike the Afloia, which uses HEPA filtrations, the Simsen uses a combination of a washable particle filter, an activated charcoal filter, and an ionizer to help freshen the air. 

Ionizers aren’t as effective at cleaning the air as standard air purifiers, but the Simsen dehumidifier with ionizer could be a good choice for smelly areas like laundry rooms, bathrooms and kitchens, as the activated charcoal filter will eliminate odors.
