How To Clean Oreck XL Professional Air Purifier (For Various Models)

Here are some tips on how to clean an Oreck XL signature series air purifier; always turn off and unplug your model before cleaning.

Oreck XL AIRS

Cleaning The Cabinet
  1. Turn off and unplug the air purifier
  2. Wipe down the inside and outside of the cabinet with a mild non-abrasive cleaner and clean cloth.
  3. If you must, gently vacuum or go in with cotton buds
  4. Make sure the cabinet is completely dry before plugging in and turning on
Cleaning The Electronic Collector Cell
  1. Remove the Truman cell according to manual instructions
  2. Thoroughly coat the cell in Oreck’s Assail-A-Cell cleaner. You can also fill a sink with hot soapy water.
  3. Leave it to soak for a few minutes, ensuring that the cleaner does not dry on the cell
  4. Repeat if necessary
  5. Rinse and leave to thoroughly dry
  6. Replace according to manual instructions

Cleaning The Air Direction Grill
  1. Unplug and turn off the air purifier

How To Stop ‘Clean Cell’ Light From Blinking?

Each Oreck XL air purifier has a slightly different way of resetting the clean cell light. We break them down for you here.

XL AIRS

The AIRS models should reset themselves, but you can try making sure that your Truman cell is completely dry and undamaged. If it, or the unit itself, is damaged, you will need to send it away for repairs.

XL AIRP
